Under Slung Single Girder Crane

S.K. Engineering Company manufactures a versatile Under Slung Single Girder Crane for applications where conventional top‑running EOT cranes or floor‑mounted gantry structures are difficult to install. In this under‑running design, the single bridge girder runs on the bottom flange of overhead runway beams, making excellent use of restricted headroom and existing building steel while providing wide coverage along the bay.

The crane is suitable for capacities typically ranging from 0.5 ton up to about 10 tons, with spans that can be customized within standard underhung ranges (around 3 m to 20+ m, depending on requirement and structure). It is ideal for light to medium‑duty operations such as component handling, assembly line feeding, tool and fixture movement, and general goods lifting in engineering, automotive, fabrication and process plants.

Depending on the load and duty cycle, the crane can be equipped with an electric chain hoist or an electric wire rope hoist, selected to suit lifting height, usage frequency and desired speed. Typical parameters for single‑girder under slung cranes include multiple lifting height options (for example 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24 m), optimized lifting speeds with dual/VFD options and smooth cross‑travel and long‑travel speeds for accurate load positioning.

To ensure safe and reliable operation, S.K. Engineering’s Under Slung Single Girder Crane can integrate features such as overload protection, upper and lower hoist limit switches, cross‑travel and long‑travel limit switches, emergency stop circuits and reliable braking systems. Optional enhancements like variable‑frequency drives, anti‑collision devices, audio‑visual alarms and pendant or radio‑remote controls can be provided to match plant safety standards and operator ergonomics.

Because it is suspended from the roof structure, the crane eliminates the need for floor columns, improving aisle clearances and workflow while distributing wheel loads efficiently onto the building steel. Combined with robust construction and low maintenance requirements, S.K. Engineering Company’s Under Slung Single Girder Crane offers a long‑life, cost‑effective solution for modern material‑handling systems.
