5 Ton Goliath Crane

S.K. Engineering Company’s 5 Ton Goliath Crane is a versatile gantry‑type lifting solution designed for applications where overhead runway beams are not feasible or where large open areas need full crane coverage. The crane structure runs on rails laid at floor level, using rigid legs on one or both sides to support the main girder, allowing it to travel the full length of the bay while keeping the building roof free of crane loads.

With a rated capacity of 5 tons, this Goliath Crane is ideal for medium‑duty material handling in fabrication shops, construction yards, engineering units, precast yards and general industrial stores. Typical tasks include loading and unloading trucks, handling steel beams, plates and sections, moving heavy machine parts and organizing outdoor stockyards with minimal use of mobile equipment.

Depending on project requirements, the 5 Ton Goliath Crane can be supplied as a single‑girder or double‑girder configuration, with mild‑steel box or I‑beam construction for optimum strength‑to‑weight ratio. Key parameters such as span (commonly in the 10–20 m range), lifting height and travel speeds are customized to suit site layout, ensuring smooth motion and accurate load positioning along the rails.

The hoisting mechanism typically uses an electric wire rope hoist or crab unit designed for reliable 5 ton service, complete with robust brakes and geared drives for long‑term performance. Travel motions on the gantry and cross travel are powered by motor‑driven wheel assemblies, often with dual or VFD‑controlled speeds to provide soft starts, reduced load swing and precise stopping.

To ensure safe and dependable operation, the crane can be equipped with overload protection, upper and lower hoist limit switches, long‑travel and cross‑travel limit switches, emergency stop circuits and rail clamps or parking brakes where required. Options such as anti‑collision devices, audio‑visual alarms, storm locks for outdoor installations and pendant or radio‑remote controls are available to match customer safety standards and operator convenience.

By using rail‑mounted portal legs instead of building‑mounted runways, the 5 Ton Goliath Crane offers an economical solution for new yards and brownfield sites alike, with minimal structural modification to existing sheds. Combined with rugged fabrication, corrosion‑resistant finishes and service‑friendly design, S.K. Engineering Company’s 5 Ton Goliath Crane provides a reliable, cost‑effective material‑handling system for demanding industrial environments.
