5 Ton Under Slung Crane

S.K. Engineering Company manufactures a high‑performance 5 Ton Under Slung Crane engineered for plants where conventional top‑running EOT cranes or floor‑mounted gantry columns are difficult to accommodate. The crane bridge runs on the bottom flange of overhead runway beams, creating an under‑running configuration that makes excellent use of restricted headroom and existing building structures.

With a safe working load of 5 tons, this under slung crane is ideal for medium‑duty material handling in fabrication units, engineering workshops, heavy component stores, automotive and process industry bays. Typical operations include handling steel structures, machine parts, dies, jigs, fixtures and palletized loads within a bay or between adjacent workstations, significantly reducing manual handling and forklift dependence.

The crane can be equipped with a suitable electric wire rope hoist or heavy‑duty chain hoist, selected based on required lifting height, duty cycle and process speed. Standard parameter ranges for 5 ton underhung cranes include customizable spans (within typical 3–22.5 m ranges), lifting heights from around 6 m upwards and optimized hoisting and travel speeds that ensure smooth, precise load positioning.

To improve safety and reliability, the system can integrate overload protection, upper and lower hoist limit switches, cross‑travel and long‑travel limit switches, emergency stop, robust brakes and proper earthing as standard features. Options such as dual‑speed or VFD‑based motion control, anti‑collision devices, audio‑visual alarms and pendant or radio‑remote controls are available to match plant safety guidelines and operator ergonomics.

As a ceiling‑mounted under slung design, the crane reduces the need for additional steel structures and optimizes building usage by distributing wheel loads efficiently onto the existing overhead beams. Combined with low maintenance requirements and energy‑efficient drives, S.K. Engineering Company’s 5 Ton Under Slung Crane offers a long‑life, cost‑effective lifting solution that enhances productivity and overall shop‑floor safety.
