Outdoor Gantry Crane

S.K. Engineering Company’s Outdoor Gantry Crane is engineered for applications where overhead runway beams are not feasible and where large open areas require full crane coverage for loading, unloading and stacking operations. The crane bridge is supported on sturdy portal legs that travel along floor‑mounted rails, allowing safe and efficient movement of materials across the entire yard while keeping building structures free from crane loads.

Available in single‑girder and double‑girder configurations, the Outdoor Gantry Crane can be tailored in capacity, span and lifting height to suit specific site requirements, from light‑duty yard handling to heavy industrial service. Typical uses include handling steel sections, plates, pipes, fabricated assemblies, precast components and pallets in fabrication yards, logistics hubs, stockyards and construction or infrastructure projects.

Hoisting is achieved through an electric wire rope or chain hoist, selected according to capacity and duty cycle, with options for single, dual or variable‑frequency speeds. Cross travel and long travel are powered by electric drives with smooth acceleration and braking, enabling precise positioning of loads and minimizing sway even under outdoor conditions.

To ensure safe outdoor operation, the crane can be equipped with overload protection, upper and lower hoist limit switches, end‑travel limit switches, emergency stop circuits and reliable brakes on all motions. Additional options such as rail clamps or storm locks, buffers, warning beacons/hooters and pendant or radio‑remote controls help meet plant safety standards and provide operator comfort in exposed environments.

With rugged structural design, corrosion‑resistant finishes and maintenance‑friendly access, S.K. Engineering Company’s Outdoor Gantry Crane offers a long‑life, cost‑effective solution for improving productivity and material‑handling efficiency in open‑air industrial operations.
