20 Ton Goliath Crane

S.K. Engineering Company’s 20 Ton Goliath Crane is a high‑capacity gantry‑type lifting system developed for operations where overhead runway beams are impractical or where large open spaces require full crane coverage. The crane bridge is supported on rigid portal legs that travel on ground‑level rails, enabling it to cover long bays and outdoor yards while keeping the building roof free from crane loads and minimizing structural steelwork.

With a rated capacity of 20 tons, this Goliath Crane is ideal for heavy‑duty handling of steel plates and sections, precast elements, heavy machinery, moulds and other bulky industrial loads. Typical installations include fabrication yards, infrastructure and construction projects, industrial stockyards, ports and large warehouses where frequent, repetitive lifting is required.

The crane is generally configured as a double‑girder gantry with a strong welded box or I‑beam structure, providing excellent stiffness and low deflection under full load. Standard technical ranges for 20 ton gantry cranes include customizable spans (roughly 8–30 m or more), lifting heights from about 6–20 m and working classes around A5–A7 for heavy cyclic duty, all tailored to site layout and application.

Hoisting is performed by a heavy‑duty electric wire rope hoist or crab unit designed specifically for 20 ton SWL, equipped with high‑strength wire rope, robust brake systems and efficient geared motors for reliable long‑term service. Travel motions on the gantry and trolley use motorized wheel assemblies with single, dual or variable‑frequency (VFD) speed control, delivering smooth acceleration, reduced load sway and accurate stopping during positioning.

To ensure safe and dependable operation, the 20 Ton Goliath Crane can incorporate overload protection, upper and lower hoist limiters, end‑travel limit switches, emergency stop circuits and high‑integrity brakes on all motions. Optional safety and productivity features such as rail clamps or storm locks, anti‑collision systems, warning beacons/hooters, remote or pendant controls and diagnostic monitoring can be provided to match site safety policies and operational needs.

Designed for outdoor and indoor heavy‑duty environments, S.K. Engineering Company’s 20 Ton Goliath Crane combines rugged steel construction, corrosion‑resistant finishes and service‑friendly access to deliver long service life and low cost per ton handled. Its ability to use rail‑mounted legs instead of building‑supported runways makes it an economical and flexible solution for both new facilities and brownfield expansions where powerful, reliable lifting is essential.
