Roof Mounted Crane

S.K. Engineering Company offers a robust Roof Mounted Crane engineered for industrial facilities that want full crane coverage without sacrificing valuable floor space for runway columns or gantries. The crane runs on rails or I‑beams attached to the building roof structure, allowing loads to be moved efficiently along the length and width of the bay while keeping aisles and production areas completely unobstructed.

This roof‑mounted configuration is particularly suitable for workshops, fabrication shops, maintenance bays, warehouses and assembly lines where headroom is limited or where later installation of traditional runway girders is difficult. Typical applications include lifting and transferring components, tools, jigs, machine parts and palletized goods between workstations, storage zones and loading areas.

Depending on capacity and duty requirements, the crane can be supplied as a single‑girder overhead system with electric chain or wire rope hoist, or as a heavier‑duty variant for higher loads. Spans, lifting heights and motion speeds are custom‑selected to suit the building dimensions and process layout, ensuring precise load positioning with smooth starting and braking.

To ensure safe and reliable operation, the Roof Mounted Crane can be equipped with features such as overload protection, hoist upper and lower limit switches, travel limit switches, emergency stop circuits and high‑efficiency brakes on all motions. Additional options like variable‑frequency drives, radio remote controls, anti‑collision systems and audio‑visual alarms can be integrated to match plant safety policies and operator comfort requirements.

By utilizing the existing roof structure, S.K. Engineering Company’s Roof Mounted Crane reduces the amount of steelwork needed for traditional runways and helps distribute loads efficiently, making it an economical choice for both new projects and retrofit installations. The lightweight, compact design and low maintenance needs provide a long‑life, cost‑effective material‑handling solution that enhances productivity and space utilization in modern industrial facilities.
